The Baptist Monitor is the official publication of the Texas Baptist Institute-­Seminary located in Henderson, Texas. Its history dates back to the early 1930’s when the late Dr. A. J. Kirkland began publishing it for the stated purpose of monitoring the associated work of the churches associating in the Baptist Missionary Association of Texas. Following the 1949 division in this association, The Baptist Monitor has continued to monitor the associated work of the newly organized Missionary Baptist Association of Texas.

 This publication also serves to inform churches and individuals of the progress and needs of the Texas Baptist Institute‑Seminary and of mission works around the world. Special features are also given attention as well as devotional material and full length sermons.
