In these days of religious pussyfooting, fence-straddling, complacency and inertia on the part of the religious world it is high time for old line Baptists to become more energetic and aggressive toward old time, fundamental truths. No truth is more precious to Bible loving Baptists than the truth a New Testament Church is free and sovereign. We represent such free and sovereign churches here tonight. That the Lord commands His churches to be free and sovereign and makes them the sole custodians of the Gospel is precious Bible truth and Baptist heritage. . . .

   Jeremiah 2:34 –“Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocentsGod had commanded the prophet Jeremiah to Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord."
    The entire book of Jeremiah contains God’s message to His chosen people addressed as Jerusalem and as Israel and as Jacob. Although greatly blessed of God, Israel had turned from the true worship of God to the worship of the pagan gods of Balaam. God told Jeremiah to remind the people of His goodness toward them and then voice His indictment against them. Chapter two, verses seven and eight contain the blessings and the indictment. And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination. The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handled the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. . . .
